In this episode, Camilla Uppal is joined by Roy Magara, Founder & Director of Magara Law.
Roy provides a fascinating insight into the life of an employment lawyer, explaining why he decided to specialise in employment law, what traits and characteristics make a great employment lawyer, and the biggest challenges around being an employment lawyer. We discuss trends in the types of cases that employment lawyers are likely to see, and how these can be linked to current events. Roy also provides his opinion on what aspiring employment lawyers can be doing to explore the practice area further.

In this episode, we are joined by Jill Howell-Williams, National Programme Director of the SQE at The University of Law.
Jill provides insight into what the SQE is and why it was introduced by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). Jill also explains the benefits of the SQE route, such as cost, flexibility, and the time it takes to qualify. Jill also provides insight into one of the most important questions that students are asking at the moment: what route do law firms prefer applicants to have taken?
We also find out more about the benefits of studying the SQE at The University of Law, both in terms of the way that the SQE courses are designed and delivered, in addition to the other benefits of studying at The University of Law, such as the extra-curricular activities on offer and its vibrant social scene.
